The Real Cost of Ignoring That Slow Drain

Drains April 2, 2026 · By tony.genov

A slow drain is a clog paying rent. The timeline runs surprisingly on schedule:

  • Month 1: Annoying. Water pools, then clears. Easy to ignore.
  • Month 2–3: The blockage matures; gurgling starts; smells arrive.
  • The holiday weekend: Full stop — usually when the house is fullest.

Break the timeline early and it’s a quick flat-rate visit. Break it late and you’re renting fans from a restoration company. The drain is telling you something — it’s cheaper to listen early.
