The brief
The pool was beautiful; everything around it was an afterthought. The owners wanted resort evenings — outdoor cooking, swimming at dusk, and planting that smelled as good as it looked.
The result
Lavender and silver-foliage borders wrap the stone coping, a full outdoor kitchen anchors one end, and layered night lighting turned the backyard into the room the family uses most from May to October.
